Two schoolgirls killed by water monster

Two schoolgirls have drowned while bathing in the Visakha Wewa in Kurunegala.
The deceased have been identified as 13 and 14 year old residents of Kurunegala.
Four girls had gone to bathe in the Visakha Wewa yesterday (15) afternoon and the residents of the area had seen the four students drowning.
The children were later rescued by the residents of the area and three students who were in a critical condition were admitted to the Kurunegala Hospital.
According to the police, two students had succumbed to their injuries while receiving treatment at the hospital.
Kurunegala Police are conducting further investigations.
