Colombo Chief Medical Officer Dr. Vijayamuni said that he had visited several areas around Colombo today (11) and found that many people were not wearing masks.
He has mentioned that many people wandering around the city of Colombo were seen wearing masks.
The doctor points out that this is a very dangerous condition.
He further stated that 25,833 cases of Kovid have been reported from Colombo since 12.03.2020 and 1,098 of them have died due to Kovid infection.
He pointed out that vaccination is not a final solution and will have to be subject to such health guidelines for at least the next two years.
