Reservoir water levels in Victoria are reported to have dried up due to the dry weather prevailing in many parts of the central highlands these days.
A senior official of the Mahaweli Authority stated that the Victoria Reservoir, a major reservoir for releasing water for hydropower generation and storage for agricultural purposes, is currently drying up by hundreds of thousands of cubic meters per day.
The residents of the area stated that the water level of the Victoria Reservoir has dropped and the old town of Teldeniya is about to rise and many people are coming to see the reservoir which is drying up.
