WEATHER WITH ABOUT 220,000 POWER OUTAGES

The Electricity Board states that there are power outages in several provinces due to the adverse weather conditions prevailing in the island.

As a result, around 220,000 people have been affected by the floods, including in the Southern, Central and Eastern Provinces and in the Kalutara District.

The Ceylon Electricity Board (CEB) says that most of the power outages are caused by tree falls and landslides.

The CEB also stated that employees of the CEB are trying to repair the breakdowns despite the heavy rains.
