With the arrival of turmeric in the local market, the price of turmeric powder, which had risen sharply, has come down.
Accordingly the price of a kilogram of turmeric powder has been reduced from Rs. 7000 to Rs. 4500.
The price of a kilogram of turmeric has also come down from Rs. 1000 to Rs. 500.
The Department of Export Agriculture states that many farmers who were cultivating other crops have now resorted to turmeric cultivation.
